There isn’t a Cajun accent thick enough to save Brian Kelly from the ire of LSU football fans following Sunday’s 24-23 loss to Florida State at the Caesars Superdome.
LSU’s mistake-filled performance included two muffed punts, a blocked field goal and a game-sealing blocked PAT, and the type of inconsistent quarterback play that evoked memories of the Les Miles era.
The Tigers gave themselves on last shot to force overtime after recovering an FSU fumble at their 1-yard line. But the 99-yard miracle drive came up a PAT short after Florida State’s Shyheim Brown blocked it to seal a wild game in New Orleans.
