WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Social media continues its rampant growth. From Facebook to Twitter, Instagram to LinkedIn, Reddit to YouTube, these virtual platforms have changed the way people communicate, conduct business and live their lives.
In response to this ever-burgeoning enterprise, Concord Law School at Purdue Global is launching a social media law microcredential. This free, self-paced course will provide a deeper understanding of the legal issues related to social media. With instruction from Concord Law School faculty, students will study social media law fundamentals in four modules and develop knowledge that can be immediately applied to their career, education or personal life.
“Social media is such a pervasive part of our lives, but most people aren’t aware of the numerous legal issues that may be raised, both as individuals and as employees, any time they post, share or comment,” said Martin Pritikin, Purdue Global vice president and dean of Concord Law School. “Concord is pleased to be able to offer a free microcredential in social media law that can provide useful background for lay people and legal professionals alike.”
