Pregame social media buzz ahead of Texas’ season opener vs. UL Monroe

The Texas Longhorns will host the Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks to kick off the 2022 college football season on Saturday evening.

While Texas is the overwhelming favorite in this matchup, much of the excitement surrounds the many new faces that will be suiting up in the burnt orange for the first time.

All eyes will be on former five-star quarterback Quinn Ewers as he was named the starting quarterback by Steve Sarkisian earlier this month. Sarkisian noted that he does not intend to play backup quarterback Hudson Card, but it will depend how the game is going at the time.

On the defensive side, transfers Diamonte Tucker-Dorsey and Ryan Watts figure to make a significant impact.
