Spicer first did a rapid antigen test, which came back positive, before getting a more accurate PCR test, which had the same result.

She explained her symptoms began on Sunday.

‘On Sunday morning, I felt fabulous. Then, I felt a tickle in the back of my throat. This is not unusual as I often get hay fever,’ she said.

Spicer said she ‘immediately self-isolated’ with her family after her initial positive result from the rapid antigen test.

‘Late that afternoon, it hit like a freight train. My head felt like it was in a vice. Then came the nasal congestion and sneezing. Finally that evening, the dry cough and fever,’ she added.

‘The fatigue is – frankly – debilitating. Yesterday afternoon, I got out of bed to water the garden. After 10 minutes on my feet, I had to lie down again. Today, it’s gone to my chest. I’m coughing like a two-packet-a-day smoker.’

Tracey urged others to get tested if they have any symptoms.

She also encouraged her followers to get their booster shots, and thanked medical workers for their hard work on the frontline.

‘Heartfelt thanks to hubby and the kids, who’ve been ferrying meals, medicine and toilet paper to my bedroom door,’ she added.

‘This must be so difficult to deal with if you live alone, or in an isolated area.’
