LinkedIn Reaches Deal in Data-Scraping Feud With Analytics Firm


A now-defunct workforce analytics provider agreed to delete information related to its scraping of data from LinkedIn Corp. profiles, as part of a proposed resolution to a lengthy legal dispute.

The deal, revealed Tuesday in a case that was heading to trial, comes after a federal court in San Francisco ruled that hiQ Labs Inc. breached LinkedIn’s user agreement by collecting data from the job search site to sell its own services.
