The Jordanian Income and Sales Tax Department Aug. 4 announced an initiative to help social media influencers and others earning income from social media, to reconcile their tax status with the agency and avoid fines and legal measures. The announcement explains that these taxpayers should: 1) voluntarily file tax returns and pay any income tax or sales tax owed; and 2) voluntarily register for sales tax if they meet the turnover threshold.
