Listen up, space cowboys, for how you can snag a limited edition of Faye Valentine’s outfit from “Cowboy Bebop” on today’s episode of “Big Shot.”
Kidding. But in all seriousness, though, you could totally buy Faye cosplay as brought to you by Influencer and artist Sunny Ray right now at crypto marketplace OpenSea.
For those of you who are knew to this (same, so please bear with), OpenSea is an online platform on which people can create and trade items with non-fungible tokens (NFTs) which are, as explained by The Verge, a one-of-a-kind blockchain that can be used as currency.
With regards to OpenSea in particular, as according to their own press release: “Digital collectibles are distinctive digital assets that can come in the form of art, music and video. They can be bought or traded similarly to physical trading cards. [However], digital creations can be authenticated and verified by blockchain, eliminating the risk of purchasing counter works. These digital creations are irreplaceable and provide the public a fun and alternative way in supporting creators and investing in art.”
Basically, in layman’s terms, you can buy items like the limited edition Faye cosplay through the use of NFTs via blockchain-run auctions on the site.
“For the Faye Valentine story, I really wanted to get the cartoon feel, so I like to look up photos of her and different fan art for posing inspiration and color scheme, and this is what I came up with and it’s only available until the next drop,” explains Sunny Ray.
Sunny Ray’s Faye Valentine cosplay is currently available on OpenSea for $200 until supplies run out.
