ATLANTA — Kill Cliff, maker of clean energy and cannabidiol (CBD) drinks, has formed a deal with Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits, a distributor of alcoholic beverages.
“Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits, the world’s preeminent distributor of beverage alcohol, is filling the void and leading the industry with national CBD distribution,” said John Timar, Navy SEAL veteran and founder and CEO of Kill Cliff. “Southern Glazer’s is the perfect distribution partner to work with in pioneering this industry. They provide the capabilities and validation that retail buyers have been looking for in the market.”
The agreement between the two companies is expected to drive retail growth for the Kill Cliff portfolio, headlined by comic and podcaster Joe Rogan’s Flaming Joe CBD beverage, a Kill Cliff executive said.
“We’ve realized over 500 percent growth in our CBD line over the last year, eviscerating all analyst expectations for the industry,” said Gene LaPine, vice president of sales at Atlanta-based Kill Cliff. “We are also pacing well ahead of the 70 percent growth anticipated this year in the CBD beverage segment.”
John Brenkus, six-time Emmy Award winner and Kill Cliff chief marketing officer, added, “To date, our ability to market and message CBD is second to none.”
Kill Cliff CBD products offer customers 25 mg of broad-spectrum hemp-derived CBD in each can. The formulation includes B vitamins, electrolytes and plant extracts and is available in five flavors: Mango Tango, Spicy Pineapple (Flaming Joe), Strawberry Daze, Orange Kush and The Grapest of All Time (The G.O.A.T.).
The Kill Cliff team includes military veterans and athletes and supports the Navy SEAL community with more than $1 million to date in donations to the Navy SEAL Foundation, the company said.
With 42 distribution centers, 14.8 million square feet of warehouse space and more than 2,600 delivery trucks, Southern Glazer’s supports a nationwide distribution network of hemp-derived CBD products. It is a multigenerational, family-owned company with operations in 44 U.S. states, the District of Columbia and Canada.
