Shane Zimmerman

Two Rivers Bank & Trust Board of Directors announced the appointment of Shane Zimmerman, president and CEO of Two Rivers Bank & Trust, effective Oct. 19. 

Zimmerman will succeed Matt Shinn, who departs after a 21-year career with the organization to direct outreach service for Harmony Bible Church. 

For the past seven years, Zimmerman served as senior vice president Area Business Manager and Commercial Banking Leader for Wells Fargo in Iowa.  

He has more than 25 years of banking experience with focused expertise in commercial banking and business development. A graduate of UNI, Zimmerman earned his MBA from Drake University.

Zimmerman said of his new position,” Two Rivers Bank & Trust has a distinguished history and is on a journey of growth and service. I am thrilled to join a tremendous team of professionals and Board of Directors, who are focused on customer relationships and serving our diverse communities.”

Zimmerman and his wife, Keri, have two children.

Heather Barnett

KEOKUK — Heather J. Barnett, branch manager of Barnett Financial Partners, Inc., associated with Wells Fargo Advisors Financial Network, LLC, in Keokuk, has been recognized as a “2020 Top Wealth Advisor Mom” by Working Mother Magazine.

This is her fourth consecutive year to be named by the magazine to the rankings. She is married to Ryan Barnett, who is also a financial advisor and her business partner.

Heather Barnett has more than 25 years of experience in the financial services industry.

She is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a master of science in business administration with a concentration in finance.

MOUNT PLEASANT — Kelly Waters of rural Mount Pleasant is the new marketing program coordinator with Iowa State University Extension and Outreach. She is serving Des Moines and Henry counties in Region 27.

Waters will provide leadership to county marketing and the development of new community partnerships. Waters also will oversee delivery of educational programs that align with the needs of Des Moines and Henry Counties. 

Waters is a graduate of Iowa State University with a bachelor’s degree in animal ecology. She brings with her experience from various conservation organizations, Iowa Wesleyan University, the University of Iowa and Southeastern Community College.

Scooter’s Coffee is donating 20 percent of its Courage Cookie sales through October to help fight breast cancer, the Midwest coffee franchise announced. 

The Courage Cookie is a frosted sugar cookie created specifically to help raise funds for critical research and support breast cancer awareness. 

“Every customer who buys a Courage Cookie has a chance to propel The Pink Agenda and Breast Cancer Research Foundation forward, and do their part to make breast cancer history,” a release from the company says. 

The Burlington Scooter’s Coffee is located at 1728 N. Roosevelt Ave.
