High school mariachi video goes viral – KVEO-TV

ROMA, Texas – A video of the Roma High School Mariachi team playing a song together while at home has gone viral.

In a video which is nearing half a million views on Facebook, students tried practicing together but lagging video streams made it impossible. They individually recorded a song and pieced it together.

Mariachi director Eloy Garza says the main goal was to keep students busy during these tough times and hopes it inspires others.

“We’re home but let’s be creative and see how we can keep our kids busy and for us this was one way be creative and stay productive at home and keep the kids motivated at the same time.”

We spoke with a mariachi student who says it’s pretty cool their video has gone viral and hopes it can provide a little light during dark times.
