City Center raises awareness for Pulmonary Fibrosis with social media campaign

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ/Press Release) – City Center will be participating in the annual #BlueUp4PF social media campaign in memory of The Webb Companies’ co-founder, Donald W. Webb, who suffered from Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF), a progressive and irreversible lung disease.

Pulmonary Fibrosis (PF) causes scarring of the lungs, gradually causing worsening breathlessness and eventually lung failure. There are more than 200,000 people in the United States living with PF today with over 50,000 new cases diagnosed each year.

Each September, the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation launches 30 Facts In 30 Days on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram in observance of Pulmonary Fibrosis Awareness Month. This campaign shares trusted, medically accurate facts about pulmonary fibrosis and develops essential programs available to those living and working with the disease.

On September 8-10, 2021, the City Center complex will be lit up in blue to help promote this mission.

Visitors are encouraged to take pictures at City Center and post about it on social media using #BlueUp4PF.
